Why does a turbine should install a vacuum breaker valve on the top?

   A vacuum breaker valve is a kind of safety valve. Mainly applied to pressure vessel or pipe, the valve can automatically open, break the vacuum effect when pressure vessel or pipe generate negative pressure or vacuum gradually raise due to system run or stop,prevent the pipe and other equipment from dent, crack etc, to make sure safety of equipment.

         Why does a turbine should install a vacuum breaker valve on the top?

         When the water turbine needs an emergency stop, the guide blade quickly closes off the water flow to the rotating wheel.Meanwhile,the subsequent flow of water continues to be discharged from the tailpipe by the inertial action, leaving a partial vacuum in the lower cavity of the cap. This part of the vacuum is quickly refilled by the flow of water back from the inertial action. When the water falls back, the flow rate is very fast, this powerful, high-speed flow creates a great impact, sometimes lifting the wheel and causing damage to the machine.

        In order to solve this problem, vacuum breaker valve is required to installed on the top. When the guide blade is in an emergency shutdown, a vacuum is formed in the upper chamber.The vacuum damage valve body is pushed to the open side due to the presence of internal and external air pressure.To destroy the vacuum to prevent the occurrence of the above accidents.
